If you've been following this blog, you might have noticed it's been a little quiet around here. I wish I could say I've been on some extended vacation or deep in some groundbreaking project, but the truth is a lot simpler — life is just really, really full right now. And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.
A Day in the Life
My alarm goes off at 5:15 AM most mornings. Before my kids are awake, before the emails start rolling in, I'm getting a workout in. It's my time to clear my head, push myself physically, and set the tone for the day. By the time my 4-year-old, 2-year-old, and 4-month-old start stirring, I've already knocked out something that makes me feel like I'm winning.
From there, it's the morning routine — breakfast, getting everyone ready, and then heading into my full-time job from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. After work, I'm helping cook dinner, playing with the kids, doing bath time, and soaking up every moment I can with my family before bedtime. And somewhere in between all of that, I'm building KYGR Solutions — working with clients, writing code, and growing a business I believe in.
So when do I write blog posts? Great question. That's exactly the problem.
Why I'm Not Making Excuses
I could sit here and list all the reasons I haven't been posting, but that's not really my style. The reality is, every hour I spend is a choice. And lately, I've been choosing to invest in my family, my health, my career, and my clients. Those are good choices. I don't regret a single one of them.
But I also know that sharing what I'm learning — whether it's about software development, running a business, or just navigating life as a busy dad — has value. It helps me process my own thoughts, and if even one person reads something I write and feels motivated to push themselves a little harder, then it's worth the effort.
God Challenges Me to Do Hard Things
I'll be honest — none of this would be possible without my faith. God has blessed me with an incredible family, meaningful work, and the energy to show up every single day. But He also challenges me. He doesn't let me coast. He puts hard things in front of me and says, 'Grow.' And so I do.
Getting up at 5:15 AM is hard. Balancing a full-time job with a side hustle is hard. Being the dad and husband my family deserves while building something on the side is hard. But that's the point. Growth doesn't come from comfort. It comes from doing the things that stretch you, even when you'd rather hit snooze or sit on the couch.
I hope that by living this way, I can motivate the people around me — my kids, my wife, my friends, my clients — to challenge themselves on a regular basis. You don't have to do everything I do. But find your hard thing. Find the thing that makes you better, and do it consistently.
A Commitment to Show Up More
So here's my honest commitment: I'm going to do better about posting here. Will it be every week? Probably not — let's be realistic. But I want to share more of what I'm building, what I'm learning, and what's on my mind. Whether it's a deep dive into a technical project, lessons from running KYGR Solutions, or just a real conversation about what it looks like to juggle all of this — I want this blog to be a place where I show up authentically.
If you're reading this and you're in a similar season of life — maybe you're a parent, maybe you're grinding at work while building something on the side, maybe you're just trying to figure out how to fit it all in — I see you. Keep going. The fact that you're trying says everything.
The Bottom Line
Life is full. My hands are full. My heart is full. I have three beautiful kids, a wife I love, work that challenges me, and a God who keeps pushing me forward. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. And I'm going to make more time to write about the journey — because if it encourages even one person to keep pushing, then it's time well spent.
